Baba Homecare has been freshening homes, breathing life into old spaces, and building deep community connections in the greater Triangle area since 2022. What began as a side-gig has grown into a proud trans-, queer-, disabled-owned business dedicated to creating environments rooted in dignity and care.

We believe every home is a sacred space—and our work centers comfort, trust, and safety, especially for neurodivergent, disabled, and marginalized clients. Whether we're cleaning, organizing, or helping folks transition into new chapters, we approach each task with intentionality and heart. We're honored to help turn homes into sanctuaries—and we look forward to being part of that transformation for years to come.

Meet Our Founder

Kijin Higashibaba (they/them) is a Autistic, ADHD, queer, trans, disabled, member of the global majority* who brings over 20 years of experience in home cleaning, organization, and animal care. Their holistic approach centers compassion, trust, and the belief that every space can become a sanctuary.

Whether supporting a move, refreshing a room, or helping clients unmask and rest, Kijin’s work is rooted in the ethos of Rest Is Resistance.** They pride themself on bringing both skill and soul to the spaces they touch.

Outside of work, Kijin enjoys cooking for their roommate, reading, and hanging out with their beloved dog Stanley.

Cas Delane, cleaner

Cas (he/him) is a queer, trans, ADHD, multiracial, and disabled nerd who brings more than four years of home healthcare experience to the Baba Homecare team, where his compassion and attention to detail continue to shine. Though new to the house cleaning business, his care-centered approach and beaming enthusiasm make him a natural fit for supporting clients in creating safe, affirming spaces.

He's thrilled to be part of a queer, disabled-owned business that uplifts community and honors everyone’s unique needs. Outside of work, Cas loves watching shows and gaming with his partners, cooking, and solving puzzles.

Lorelei Maciejewski, cleaner

Lorelei (she/her) is a queer, trans, neurodivergent punk with over five years of experience in compassionate customer service and a deep love for getting the details right. She’s passionate about organizing spaces where communities can gather and she brings that same energy and know-how to Baba Homecare, where her skills and positive attitude are celebrated.

Though this is her first professional house cleaning role, Lorelei’s commitment to community care and her focused, thoughtful approach are gifts to anyone striving to create a more restful home. She’s excited to be part of a queer-, trans-, and disabled-owned business that centers human dignity and values open, honest conversation.

In her free time, Lorelei loves all things horror, tabletop role-playing games, cooking cozy meals, and is currently learning the art of nail design.
